As a result of the internet's co-ordinated actions on Jan. 18th, SOPA/PIPA are not going to vote. This means NOW is the time to have conversations with the House and the Senate so they can be educated about how the internet works and how legislation that seeks to deal with the problems of piracy must do so with an understanding of the technologies involved. Pledging now will enable us to have these conversations.
The fourteenth amendment was passed to protect newly freed slaves, not corporate interests. A corporation should not be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, particularly when a corporation cannot be happy. Instead of having a moral and emotional core it has a charter, which demands the maximization of profit. A corporate "citizen" is not like the rest of us.
